hi all,
my name is max beshers and i've been a steady volunteer with books to prisoners this past year while i was taking some time off from school. i'm off to college the day after tomorrow, so my time as a regular volunteer has unfortunately come to an end. i just want to express my very heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for books to prisoners. it has been such a wonderful blessing for me to be involved with this program, which has brought me countless opportunities to do things and meet people i otherwise would never have been connected with. i was really inspired by hearing those of you who attended our potluck last week speak about what BTP means to you. it's amazing to me how a really simple idea of helping those who need it has blossomed into something that benefits so many lives in so many ways. it seems like everyone who touches this program takes something good away from it -- from the prisoners who receive our books, to the volunteers who answer the letters,
our jail volunteers, and even the people who have patronized our booksales. thank you to everyone who's been involved with books to prisoners, and to all of you who are reading this "from the sidelines" -- i encourage you to come out and volunteer; you won't regret it! special thanks to suzanne for getting me involved with BTP last summer. i'll never forget what i've learned from reading all those letters and talking with all of you.
  max beshers
