Here is news from Joan Nelshoppen about the Peace
Bazaar; however, there is a correction to be made.
Joan mentions that Sandra Ahten's artwork is for sale.
The pieces for sale are #303 and #306.
Note: forwarded message attached.
Hello Everyone!
Well, it was an exciting sale we had last Saturday! The crowds were
good. Folks seemed to find us at our new location at McKinley and seemed
pleased with what we were offering. All in all, I am very happy with the
results of the 36th annual Peace Bazaar. We've raised between $3900 and
$4000 for peace and social justice groups. Expenses are not yet tallied so
I can't be more specific right now. Thanks to everyone who made nearly
$4000 for peace possible – your contributions make a difference!
There is the chance of bumping up the bazaar earnings a bit (I would love
to get it over $4000) if I am able to sell a few more items. All of the
following would make lovely gifts. Please contact me if you are interested
in any of the following:
$25 gift certificate from Jane Addams Book Shop. Jane Addams sells used
books, new calendars, handmade cards, etc. Make a bibliophile you know
happy. We're asking $18 for the $25 gift certificate.
Gift certificate from Culver's Custard for one quart of custard per month
for a year. Approximate value of $80. We're asking $35.
One of a kind necklaces, bracelets and earrings by local artists Terri
Mittenthal, Rebecca Plummer Roloff, and Cynthia Cater Ching. Variously
priced.
Two oil paintings by local artist Sandra Ahten from her White Weed
Collection.

We are selling numbers 302 and 306 for $30 each. This is much less then
Ahten's normal price.
Kaleidoscope print of tropical fish by local artist Brian Sullivan for
$7. Normal price of $15.
Three small watercolors by Rebecca Plummer Roloff ranging in price from
only $3 to 5
Lovely hand-woven woolen hats and scarves by Spinners and Weavers' Guild
member Barbara Anderson. Unique and beautiful. Priced from $10 to $25.
Two signed CDs of Every Town by the Rocky Moffit group. Approximate value
of $15. Asking $7 each.
Two collections of stories by award winning storyteller Patricia Hruby
Powell. Each cassette retails for approximately $8 – 10. We're asking $4
or $5. Titles: Hans & Gret: the Rap and Other Stories from Around the
World and Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Grandmothers.
Please consider if someone you love might enjoy one of these fine
gifts. Give me a call at 369-2853 or e-mail me. I would be happy to show
you any of the items in person.
Wishing you a peaceful holiday season,
Joan
