[Bookstoprisoners] idea for alt gift program

Would we want to do a snail mail mailing to all of the IMC members to ask if
they want to "purchase" an alternative gift?

Could someone find out how many people are on the mailing list by contacting
Michelle (see excerpt of Danielle's email below)?

Someone would have to design the mailing...and I would think it would need
to have a return envelope in it.
My gut tells me it would pay off. What do you think? Would you contact
Michelle, so we can estimate a cost for it? Would you be willing to design
the mailing? Woudl you be willing to oversee getting the mailing printed?
Would you be willing to affix label and stamps?

you should definitely use the membership list to do a mailing.  it is our
membership list and any working group can use it.  we have a person -
michelle - a new communications professor - who has offered to compile the
membership list.  she has been given all the data and said she would have
it in good order by our next finance meeting - thursday nov 30th.  so if
you can wait until then, she can probably print you labels that don't
include all the returned addresses we got from the last membership
mailing.  her e-mail is: shumate at uiuc.edu.  Feel free to contact her.
