I was at B2P this morning to help Joan Nelshoppen locate the tables
for the Peace Bazaar that Jay has kindly labeled. She loaded them on
her U-Haul -it. They will be back on Dec. 4 or 5.
Deb and Sandra were there when I got there and we discussed the
alternative gift program. They suggested that we Not have cards to
sign and send at the Bazaar for the reason that if we do it as before:
taking names and addresses of both parties - the donator and the named
loved one(s) plus a record of the amount of $, we will have two things
- a paper record of the amount of money received via that program and
the addresses or the people who gave last year - for next year - to
write to.
That means two things: we need to have a line added to the flier
- thanks Suzanne! - for the address of the person donating and it
means that we do not have cards there at the table.
We will need the cards for when we send out the cards, on the
afternoon of Dec. 14 - I will take responsibility for getting them
done on that Thursday afternoon (might need help and might not, but
will take responsibility) and the following Thursday should there are
any more (Dec. 21). Sandra will locate last years list of addresses of
the people in the program and we can send them one of these fliers,
maybe this Saturday. Just a suggestion: the picture of the prisoner
reading in his cell would make a lovely illustration (to my mind any
way) as an "import" on the flier and attract more attention than not
having an illustration.

As for Saturday, I will bring a light card table I just bought -
I have to be there at 9:00 briefly anyway to see that the Postcards
for Peace table gets equipped. Deb will be there shopping for books at
9:00 and can bring the display board she has volunteered to make -
thank you, Deb. Yvette can you bring the fliers that will be there on
Thursday afternoon, since you are sitting from 9 - 11? And also the
donation can/jar that should still be around from the sale. if the
tables need to be set up the night before, I will do that as
well....have to ask Joan. Barbara
