[Bookstoprisoners] Security and energy cost update

Hullo Books to Prisoners group!  IMC Space Coordinator, Danielle, here.

I few requests with the word "please" before each:

SECURITY

We have had a recent rash of thefts at the IMC.  Wallets, a camera,  
and a cell phone was stolen over several days.  The thief was on all  
3 floors of the IMC.

Keep doors locked.  Do not prop or leave open ANY entrance doors.    
The South (Lincoln Square side) door has become the preferred door  
for unauthorized access.

If you are working regularly at the IMC, please get keys. Contact  
Chris at 721-7125 or caevans2 at hotmail.com to fill out a membership  
form and get a key.

Please work out as a group a way to keep the building secure during  
B2P work sessions.

If you are the last one out, please pull the B2P door closed behind you.


LIGHTS

The IMC estimates that we will spend $60,000 in gas and electric  
alone in 2007, due to rate increases.

The IMC will be changing out all incandescent lights for compact  
florescents.  We also are pursuing an energy audit to invest in  
energy savings for the building.

Please do not leave lights on that you are not using and always turn  
off lights when you are done.
