[Bookstoprisoners] MASSIVE WORK PARTY

Wow. This morning at btp we had 15 Volunteers from i-help, which was
organized through the alumni office for this one day, homecoming event (btp
got 15, and the IMC got another 15 of the 1,000 total). Our volunteers
worked along side Suzanne, Michelle, Jamie and I from 11:00 - 1:00. As you
can probably guess, we kicked some serious butt.

We've left the shelves with a few bare spots and there were some
bottlenecks, but we've tried to clean the room so that it's ready for the
regular Saturday shift starting shortly. We've left a note explaining this,
but in case you read this first, we have books which HAVE NOT been entered
in the database, stacked and rubber banded to the left of the computer
furthest from the door.

We did a considerable amount of packaging for individual inmates, and the
bulk boxes are mostly overflowing. We also may have inadvertently answered
some letters out of order and left some things a little disheveled but
again, we kicked butt and provided a bunch of potential new volunteers
exposure to how awesome books2prisoners is and many have said they want to
come back!
