I'm confused re which grant and what feedback from Leslie you are 
referencing, Niloofar.

As to jail needs, many of the most popular books are rarely donated from the 
UC community (eg, Walter Moseley, Donald Goines) and those that are 
available literally get read to pieces in a relatively short time.  Same for 
popular magazines (People, Ebony).  GED books are available for those taking 
the classes but others also want them and we don't have a supply.  Stephen 
Hartnett could probably suggest poetry books that students in his jail class 
would especially like (one of the young customers at the library last Friday 
looked at the poetry shelf and asked if we didn't have anything 'new", ie, 
published in the last 3-4 years).
