Greetings,
Thank you Suzanne for the minutes. About mailing the packages, I need to make some clarifications. I've been taking the packages to the post office twice a week & am willing to continue doing this once a week, preferably on Fridays. Sandra & I have talked about the need to have more than once a week shipment & are looking for one other volunteer to take on this responsibility---ideally on Mondays. Also, it would be great if, at the end of each work day, those with strong backs, could take the packages upstairs & pile them up in the corner, right next to the stairways. Next time that I'm at IMC, I'll put up a sign to designate the area. Please let me know if you have some free time to kill during post office hours! Thanks!
Niloofar

Subject: [Bookstoprisoners] Saturday Report and 2 important dates
Hello BTPers--
We had a great Saturday work day! Thank you to everyone who showed up and lent a hand. Special thanks to Chistina Chou who coordinated the VIP folks and to Noah for supervising everyone as key staff. Thanks also to Niloofar, Barbara, Deb and others who worked at the Barnes and Noble book fair yesterday morning.
We set the date for our next book sale. We will be holding the book sale April 12-16, with set up on Wednesday April 11 and take down on the afternoon of April 16th. Mark your calendars now. Susan Bruce will be coordinating the book sale and you will hear more from her soon. If you would like to help, please email her at susanpbruce at yahoo.com
Also, at some point this week, we will cross the 10,000 books shipped threshold (this morning we are at 9,923 books shipped). Please join us for a celebration potluck next Saturday, February 17th at 6:30. The potluck will be at Jay and my house*, please email to let me know if you will be joining us.
Finally, we are still looking for a person to ship books once a week. This involves taking packages upstairs to post office, using our credit card and waiting while clerks process the packages. (.5 to 1 hour a week). If you are able to do this, please contact Sandra sandra.ahten at gmail.com
Thank you everyone for a great week. I hope to see you next week at our potluck.
Suzanne
*from the IMC, take Race st. south to Windsor Road (Race jogs right at Washington), turn right (west) and follow Windsor across Neil Street. Our cul-de-sac, Willowbrook, is the third street on your left. We are house number 6.
