For Ray and all IMC members -

The working policy on space usage for IMC members (recently revised by shows
group) is:

IMC members may use IMC common spaces any time it is not reserved for other
uses, as long as:
a) No money is being collected;
b) The IMC member is present throughout;
c) They take full responsibility for the space, including any damages, and
do a
FULL clean up and close up (directions can be found at
www.ucimc.org/info/booking).
d) The use is flexible and can relocate if the space gets leased out. IMC
member
activities are not scheduled and must move for anyone leasing the
space
(sometimes the space gets leased the same day). This it prohibitive to
hold an
event where a bunch of people are invited. Private parties should
reserve the space.
When possible, IMC members are encouraged to "pass the hat" to cover energy
costs of the space.

IMC members may reserve IMC common spaces for a discount.
The Stage and Sun rooms are available to active IMC members for a $25
non-refundable hold fee, plus 25% of admissions price. $100 refundable
deposit required. An active IMC member volunteers 4 hours per month to the
IMC, including meeting attendance. New members must put in a month's time
before achieving "active member" status.

For non-active IMC members and events without admissions fees:
IMC members pay $25 an hour for the stage or sunroom ($35 an hour for
non-members). $100 refundable deposit required.

The family room is available to IMC members for $10 per hour ($15 per hour
for non-members).

To reserve space go to: www.ucimc.org and click "calendar" and then "reserve
space."

Free Events related to our Mission
The IMC Steering Group can approve free use of the IMC space for events.
This provision is generally for events which are free and open to the public
and are related to the mission of the IMC. Proposals can be brought to
meetings - the 1st or 3rd Thursdays of the month at 8 pm.

Note: This working policy has been created by the shows group in conjunction
with the IMC Space Coordinator with input on parts from Steering. I suggest
it be considered as a whole by steering. If you have any ideas for
improvement, please let me know and I will incorporate and bring to
steering: chyn at ucimc.org.

Specific to Ray's request:
Your request seems to fall under "Free events related to our mission" and
would typically go through steering. I put your request on the calendar for
you. In the future, you can submit it yourself. Steering can sign off on
Thursday. I don't think it will be a problem since we do not and likely
will not have an event that evening.
