I'll be out of town on for the Memorial Day weekend. I will however send some of my thoughts on the subject later this week.

All,
I have to apologize. I asked everyone if we could briefly discuss hosting this conference over the weekend on Saturday. I got a few off list responses saying people were not available and I did not follow up with the group by proposing another time. I hope that this did not cause anyone to show up on Saturday expecting to discuss. If this happened to you, I owe you a sincere apology.
It has been suggested (off list) that we meet and discuss on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately I won't be able to do that.
Could we try for THIS Saturday (5/26/07)? I feel like it would be good to have some discussion and make a decision before our next scheduled meeting on June 9th. Please let me know if you would like to be part of this discussion, and if you could be there on Saturday to have this brief conversation.
Thanks,
Jay

All,
It sounds like there is a decent amount of support so far within our group for proposing to host the next National Books to Prisoners conference. There has also been a very warm response to the idea on the national btp email list and it sounds like we would get a decent turnout if we were to host the event.
Before we announce formally that we will be hosting the event, I'd like to give everyone a chance to discuss and come to a consensus in person. I'd like to add this as an agenda item to the next meeting (when is the next one? - we should put them on our calendar)
I've attached a picture of the group that participated in 2003.
