I am talking to you Volunteers - people who work in the jails only,
people who are new volunteers, people who are historical volunteers,
teens, students, seniors. The radio studio is in the front of the IMC,
right across from the book bin for B2P. Just knock on the window there
and we will let you in.
I just sent you the announcement of our Saturday radio show featuring
books to Prisoners Project. Our secret agenda is to plug the book sale
along the way many times.
The only person to have volunteered to talk so far is Bob Tieman -
(sounds of clapping and whistles int he background). He will start off
the show at 12 noon with me and will yield the microphone as others
show up, but stick around in case you come in and only want to talk
for one minute. Please let me know that you will stop by and say a few
words - about your experience as a volunteer, things you might have
learned that you did not know about prisons, jails or prisoners, how
excited you are about the big book sale coming up - stuff like that.
Time constraint - 30 seconds minimum to 20minute maximum.
Deb Sanderson and I are going to be on WEFT from 11 to 12 on the next
day, Sept. 23, talking up the book sale, which includes the context -
our beloved project.
P.S. Don't forget to take a bunch of flyers to hand out at all other
meetings you attend. People are grateful to have something physical to
keep as a reminder.
