i am for co-sponsoring because it is an event we have co-sponsored
before, and it really demonstrates racial unity, especially to the
folks who live in North Champaign.
It will ultimately benefit B2P to have more support of any kind from
that community. People who want to can march and carry signs in it
anyway, co-sponsoring or not.
We have in the past been a co-sponsor of the Unity March and when
it ended at the IMC, given tours of the B2P, but this time it ends in
Douglas Park where there will be an appreciation dinner (for free I
believe) and at that dinner, my friend Terry Davis is supposed to
speak about her six weeks as an investigator on the case of Mychal
Bell in Jena, La. from which she is back about four days now. i am
just telling you all so you can gauge your interest in attending that
piece of it. But "co-sponsorship of the organization" does not mean
that you will necessarily attend, but that your organization thinks it
is a good thing to have happen. Barbara
P.S. Happy to hear that Aaron will be reading his poetry.
