Hi B2P -
I am part of the space coordination team at the IMC - trying to make sure
everyone stays safe and happy in the building:
- If there is ever a fire or other emergency do not hesitate to call 911.
Once the situation is under control, call Chris at 721-7125 or email
finance at ucimc.org to report what happened.

- There should always be 4 foot exit clear of any stuff to the outdoor exit.
Be mindful not to have boxes, trolleys or other stuff in the way of a hasty
exit.

- Make sure volunteers know where the exits are - when you tell them where
the bathrooms are, just mention the exists too. The IMC is an labyrinth and
we want to make sure folks know how to get out if they need to. If you ever
see an exit sign out, let Chris or finance at ucimc.org know about it.

- B2P should have a clearly marked fire extinguisher and know how to use it.
There is a lot of flammable stuff on that room.

- As much as possible avoid plugging extension cords into extension cords.
Use heavy duty extension cords, not light residential ones. The IMC has
extras - ask Chris.

- Know that for any building related needs, you can call the IMC's Building
coordinator on his IMC cell phone Chris Evans - 721-7125. He is often in
B2P, the Bike Coop, 1st floor. Please note that IMC staff do not maintain
B2P computers or copier.

- I will send a list of emergency cell phone numbers of volunteers in the
finance/space group, who are willing to be called at home in emergencies, to
Suzanne and Jamie offline.

- Folks should be made aware that
    - Chris usually works 5am to noon and can be found at the IMC other
times of the
       day before 8 pm.

     - Joy our Office Manager works 10-noon M-F - the IMC # is 344-8820
       or folks can stop by.

     - Jason, Dan, and myself (all finance/space group members), all work
roughly
9:30 - 5:50 at OJC Technologies, on the second floor of the IMC. The
# is
278-3933. If something needs immediate attention, you can call/find
us there.
Please be mindful that this is our workplace and worktime.

- Finance at ucimc.org is a listserv of all finance/space members (you are
welcome to become one too! We meet Thursdays at 5:30pm in the IMC office).
Please send any space concerns, issues, needs, there.

- B2P has been GREAT about keeping lights off. I want to report that we
spent less this year than last on power due in part to folks being vigilant
about energy savings. Keep it up!

- As it warms up, make sure that the outside door is not propped open.
Massive loss in A/C results. Instead, have the door unlocked during your
sessions or have people use the door bell.

thanks for all you do!

Danielle
