Hello All,
This message is specifically for those of you who live in the Urbana
Champaign area.

Most emails I send you are messages encouraging healthy lifestyle choices
body-wise. But I am also an artist, and this message encourages you to
consider nurturing your artistic self. (Yes, we all have one!)

For more information on any of these opportunities, reply to this email or
call me at 217-367-6345. All classes are held in my home studio at 1408 S.
Vine, Urbana, IL.

***My new schedule of art classes is listed below. Note that I have added a
daytime class (Friday, 3-5pm)

***You can check out a smattering of my artwork at Boltini Lounge, 211 North
Neil, Champaign, any time in February.

***In March my work, along with art by Sarah Kanouse of Urbana, will be part
of a two-woman show, "Captivity Captivation," at the Visual Arts Gallery,
University of Illinois at Springfield. More details later.

***Call for entries: I am curating a show, "Dolls and Dresses," at Urbana's
Independent Media Center during May. Anyone who makes dolls or dresses as
expressions of fine art is invited to submit work for consideration. Slides,
photos, or a scheduled visit to see the work will be accepted. Deadline:
April 1.

CLASSES:

***Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain***

For adults who have always wanted to learn to draw, but felt like they
lacked talent or confidence. This class teaches "realistic," or
"naturalistic," drawing. Students learn that drawing well is really a matter
of learning a new way of seeing. Youth are accepted with permission.

Mondays 7-9pm Feb 17, 24; Mar 3, 10, 17 Cost: $95

***Art with Intention for Adults***

Individualized projects will be based on the student's interest in learning
new media, gaining skill in drawing or painting, exploring a theme,
illustrating an idea, etc. Based on their own desires, participants may have
weekly reading, sketchbook, and journaling assignments to help them uncover
and discover an intention in their own artwork. Some previous art
instruction or permission required.

Fee is for 5 classes in 6 weeks. Classes begin in February. (Call or email
for specifics)

Thursday 7-9pm or Friday 3-5pm Cost: $95

***Creative Drawing for Adults***

We'll explore one element of design each week: color, line, shape / space,
texture, and value. This project - oriented class will challenge you to
think about the word "drawing" in creative ways. Great for the beginner as
an introduction to the "elements of art" or for the stagnant artist as a
quick jump - start. No drawing skills or previous experience required.

Mondays 7-9pm Mar 31, Apr 7, 14, 21, 28 Cost: $95
