To celebrate the holiday, we're hosting a ride for members that leaves from the Urbana shop at 5:00 PM for a 60-90 minute spin around the city ? back in time for Wednesday open hours. Check out the route here . We love single-speed bikes at The Bike Project. Free of derailleurs, shifters, and their cables, they make affordable bike builds and offer significantly greater mechanical simplicity. There's also something extra worry-free and fun about them. You just turn the crank and enjoy the ride! Celebrate the beauty of this one-cogged machine with us and meet other fixed gear and single-speed riders in the CU community. We'll ride at partypace. Sunset will be 5:50 PM, so bring your lights! *November Membership Meeting!!* The Bike Project's November membership meeting will be held at the Urbana shop (202 S. Broadway Ave.) on Monday, November 7 at 7:00 PM. Check out the agenda here . All active members of the Bike Project have voting rights at meetings. Come out and have a voice in the direction of our community-owned bike shop! If you need to renew your membership, we're open on Wednesdays and Thursdays (6:30-9:00 PM) and Saturdays and Sundays (3:00-5:30 PM), as well as for WTFNB folks on the second Monday of every month (7:00-9:00 PM). *Bike Project/Refugee Center Fundraiser* Thanks to y'all's generous donations, we were able to raise $1,850 to purchase high-quality bike lights and locks for our new Afghan neighbors who cycle for transportation in Urbana-Champaign! Check out gear pics here . Our partners at The Refugee Center distributed the lights and locks among their clients, and the extra money in donations was transferred to them to help their future clients stay visible on our roads and secure their bikes in public spaces. Big love to all who contributed to this fundraiser! The Bike Project's so stoked to belong to a community that shows up for refugee community members and supports their safety on their bikes ???? -- Phillip Ernstmeyer (he/him) The Bike Project of Urbana-Champaign Champaign County Bailout Coalition Uni Faculty Organization -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
