This will be the opening set of the Winter Weekend, an event sponsored by the CU Folk & Roots Festival.? Full weekend wristbands are available online. Please see folkandroots.org for more information.? The Winter Weekend lineup features a lot of good local bands and bands from the region. If you are into Tex-Mex music, be sure to check out Los Texanoz on Saturday night. The band Joe's Truck Stop is coming from the Cincinnati area and they are terrific. And of course, you don't want to miss Candy Foster. I hope that some of you can make it out to the Rose Bowl for some (or all) of the Winter Weekend performances. They will have two bands, starting at 5:00PM with the New Orleans Jazz Machine (great trad jazz from Carl Johnson & co.). At 7:00, I'll be playing with the Occasional Cajun Band (Cajun, Creole & Zydeco, with the "all-Urbana" Cajun/Zydeco band) And you can also stick around for the Jazz Jam at 9:00 The C&C Food Truck will be there all night. With Abita amber on-tap (made in Louisiana), they'll have all of the ingredients for a good Mardi Gras party. Wear your beads and dress in green, gold and purple, the traditional colors of Mardi Gras. I hope to see some of you there. Rob
