Meeting minutes

April 5, 2005

Illinois Disciples Foundation, PRC Meeting room

1.  We need regular meetings now that CPRB has been in
the news and is attracting more interest (ACLU
representatives are interested in attending).  So, how
about the first and third Tuesdays of every month at
8pm, at the IDF if it’s available (check intercession,
summer schedule)?  Jen can just write one check for
the next few meetings, scheduled in advance.  And
Ricky thinks we should always pass the hat at every
meeting or other event.  Even if we don’t need the
money, it’s a good organizing tool.

2.  Ricky volunteers to follow up with people
regarding individual tasks: phoning cosponsors,
setting up meetings with representatives of the police
union, City Council, Mayor, etc.

3.  We need volunteers to collect new petition
signatures and follow up with signers.  Any takers?

4.  Regular updates about what we are doing would help
build interest and solicit volunteers -- by email? 
(Something folks could forward to others who might be
interested?)  We also need to make a new flyer
announcing meeting time & place, website and other
contact information.  Right now it’s hard for someone
to find out how to get hold of us if they don’t
already know one of us or someone who knows about us.

5.  Related to (1), a regular meeting schedule allows
us to place announcements in community calendars,
which we should be doing: Public I, Daily Illini,
News-Gazette, IMC, UPTV… others?

6.  Next meeting: Tues April 19 at 8pm, come rain or
shine.
