I did get some cores overnight.  I haven't seen one with symptoms
of corruption in the event library, yet, so maybe I did fix that one.
It still appears that linkstates are corrupted or double-freed.  I've put
in some assertions that I hope will make the daemon dump core soon after
the corruption occurs.
