This used to be a name server I was providing. I presume the clouds
stopped using that long ago and you're saying some other name server
doesn't work. If it's mine, though, let me know and I'll investigate.

Great!

Let me know when this is ready to go.

I've been thinking of this as the "dhcpselect implicit gateway
problem." The fix description is "dhcpselect now explicitly tests if
an interface provides an Internet gateway and configures the node
appropriately."

I made a suggestion for how to solve this last week but I didn't
suggest an interim solution. That involves removing dhcpd and
dhclient properties on the interface and configuring it manually. Be
aware that any routing changes you make and don't write to a config
file may get wiped out if dhcpselect is also trying to manage other
interfaces on the node.

For the longer term solution, do people agree/disagree that dhcpselect
should be the default way for a node to manage its interfaces? The
advantages are consolidated routing configuration, network system
management, and gateway discovery. The disadvantage could be an
unnecessary scope growth for dhcpselect (making it more complex than
it already is).
