Subject: [Imc-info] Media Coverage of Youth: What Do You Think?

The conversation starts now! . . . .

* GENERATION NEXT: MEDIA COVERAGE OF YOUTH BEYOND TRIUMPH AND TRAGEDY *
culminates on Thursday, June 3 at 2:45 p.m.
Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Van Buren, Chicago

Journalists, teen media mentors, youth advocates, parents, teachers, all
Chicago-area teenagers and the interested public is invited to offer their
opinions and insight about how the media covers youth and the issues
affecting them via cmw at newstips.org.

June 3 we'll continue the conversation live and in person. Join Chicago
Public Radio's Sylvia Ewing as she leads a roundtable discussion about
media's relationship with our communities' young people. We'll discuss
what is currently being reported and how it's being done, how youth media
covers youth issues, what's working, what needs to get better and how to
facilitate better coverage.

This event is part of Community Media Workshop's Making Media Connections
2-day conference which you can learn more about at
http://www.newstips.org/interior.php?section=Calendar&main_id=339. This
roundtable discussion is free, but please RSVP to cmw at newstips.org with
"youth roundtable" in the subject line.
