We should use a public blogspace. I had been hoping that the IMC Tech
blogspace would be public at least from<br>
the POV of the UC-IMC. In fact, I want to re-post some of my previous
blogs from the Tech Backpage
to the public<br>
MakerSpace-U blogspace.<br>

To reiterate my previous posting.<br>
Radio Doctors -- this guy is a rare throwback to the 1960's, when
people repaired equipment instead of throwing it away.<br>
He has a lot in common with us philosophically. He's willing to talk

Also, all of our communication is public. This is not just good
practice, but a requirement of IMC working groups. All of the
communication on our mailing lists and web forums must be public.
That's why we had to stop using the Tech Backpage :/
We do need to work on our outreach. What are your ideas, Wayne? I have
a flyer made up that I'll post to the Makerspace website soon. I'm not
in any way personally attached to it, so people are welcome to modify
it, discombobulate it or make better ones. Besides flyering at events,
what groups should we probe for interest in the Makerspace? Other
ideas for outreach?
I've been watching the tray rack come together. I think it's going to
help an awful lot in organizing the space. Like Chuck's workbenches
and the power supplies that everyone has put some work into, we're
already making some amazing things in the Makerspace :) Can't wait
till the tray rack is done.
I think cleaning and organizing our space better will go a long way
towards extending our life in it. I think tearing that big box apart
will help, actually. It's huge, immobile and just takes up a chunk of
valuable corner space. Does anyone have a reason why we shouldn't
dismantle it?

Other groups in the IMC have a "keystaff", members who hold keys to
the space and open the space for work hours. Keystaff can be any

minutes ago and figured out the process for becoming a keystaff
member. If you would like to be a keystaff member, let's talk and I
can explain the process. I'll document the process when I get a
chance.
AND...
What is the preferred channel for group-wide communications? Now that
we have forums on the makerspaceurbana.org, I'm not sure whether to
post to the list or to the forums, but I don't want to keep posting to
both. Let's pick one.
