So what do we want to do now? There are a few options I know of.<br>

1. We could sign another year's space sharing agreement for our current<br>
space.<br>

This would require everybody who has been contributing money to the<br>
Makerspace to continue doing so at more or less the same amount. But at<br>
our current membership, this doesn't cover rent.<br>
<br>
What would make it possible is if we partnered with another<br>
hacking/making group at the IMC, ODDMUSIC, to kick in $100/mo for rent.<br>
They'd share the space with us and they'd build and play weird<br>
instruments down here.<br>
<br>
We could also partner with the IMC Computer Help Desk. We would also<br>
take some space in the room. This has been vetoed in the past by the<br>
group and I understand why. However, the Help Desk has recently started<br>
taking donations and made $70 in about a month and a half. Not a huge<br>
sum, but a dent, certainly. Just throwing it out there.<br>
<br>
2. We could move into the cheaper space down the hall.<br>
<br>
It's smaller, cheaper ($200/mo), and people from the Bike Project would<br>
be walking through it whenever they need access to the Bike Project. We<br>
could potentially make this monthly rent with our current membership and<br>
financial commitments. It would also be easier for members who are<br>
committing large sums every month to reduce the amount they're contributing.<br>

3. We could move out.<br>

To where? I don't know. I don't have anything else lined up. We'd have<br>
to figure out what to do with all our materials.<br>
<br>
4. Other options?<br>

Chuck has explored other spaces in the past. Chuck, do you have any<br>
updates? Does anyone have any updates on options they've researched?<br>
<br>
In any case, the Makerspace would continue to exist as a group in some form.<br>
<br>
I want to thank everyone for the hard work and resources that they've<br>
put into the Makerspace over the past year. I'm looking forward to more<br>
Makerspace action in 2011, no matter what form it takes.<br>
<br>
You're all amazing people: Chuck, Stewart, Sean, Brian S., Gergana,<br>
Derek, Matt, Barry, Wayne, Kendall, Harvey, and everyone else whose been<br>
around the space and whose names I can't recall (There's a ton! I'm not<br>
a human Roladex!). We couldn't have done it without you.<br>
