you put them all together. Markus Kayser built <a

3D printer that uses sunlight</a> to sinter sand, and
sunlight-generated electricity to drive the 3D printer. He tested

consisting of a porous, ceramic bulb attached to a color-coded
meter that indicates the moisture content of soil is helping
drought-stricken farmers in Punjab, India conserve water, saving
their crops and their livelihoods. An associate research scientist
at Columbia University's Water Center is working with counterparts
in India to develop this and other <a
href="http://click.email.globalspec.com/?qs=2594ab7d1921690f7107190c57c749a0c33d01eaca2308f766ac5db249cdeb11aa6b1d56b4f2cf73">water
conservation tools</a>. A preliminary test in which 500 farmers
were given the tensiometers showed that those who followed the
instructions cut their water usage by 30%.<br>
