<pre>Hi, this is Brett Jones, former president (2007-2009) of the UIUC
Student Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH.
I am still on campus (Ph.D. program) and I'm running a user study that
I thought SIGGRAPH members might be interested in. The project
features some computer graphics, computer vision and human computer
interaction components.
You simply wave your hands in front of a cellphone, answers some
questions and you get $25. The study is running next week,
08/29-09/04, before classes ramp up.

If you’ve seen Minority Report or Iron Man, then you’ve seen
interacting with a computer by waving your hands in the air. Instead
of using a touch screen on your phone, what if you could just wave
your hands in the air to browse images or navigate a map?
I am writing to invite you to participate in a user study exploring
mobile interaction using the space around a mobile phone. This study
aims at understanding the best ways to interact with a mobile device.
If you have prior experience using a smart-phone and are over 18, you
can participate.
You get $25 for completing a series of tasks on a mobile device, some
questionnaires and a short interview (around 75 minutes total).
