<html><body><div style="color:#000; background-color:#fff; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10pt"><div>Subject:First Meeting of Reorganized Programming Committee<br><br>At the General Membership Meeting (GMM) last November, IMC members voted to approve a new standing committee of the Board of Directors, namely, a "Programming Committee". The committee is open to all IMC members and to the public at large, but "shall include at least one representative from each Working Group (WG), the IMC Operations Manager, and at least one Board member who will co-chair the committee with a WG representative." An initial list of roles and responsibilities for the committee include:<br><br></div><div class="yiv318148368MsoNormal">1. Periodically review and update t<var id="yui-ie-cursor"></var>he mission and goals of the IMC</div><div class="yiv318148368MsoNormal">2. Serve as an initial “sounding board” and/or "platform" for new programming
ideas that might be sponsored by or scheduled at the IMC and, when appropriate, pass along these ideas to the Board itself (or one of its other standing committees) for review and possible support</div><div class="yiv318148368MsoNormal">3. Recommend to the Board standards/criteria for defining Working Groups and other program units at the IMC<br></div><div class="yiv318148368MsoNormal">4. Evaluate applications from individuals or organizations to establish Working Groups and make recommendations to the Board regarding their approval</div><div class="yiv318148368MsoNormal">5. Provide Working Groups--and others attending--with a regular opportunity to learn about each others activities and to explore mutual support and/or collaboration </div><div>6. Periodically review/evaluate Working Groups and other program units and make recommendations to the Board regarding their continuation and/or support<br><br>New Board members have been poled for their
committee preferences and the Programming Committee emerged as the most popular choice. Much enthusiasm was expressed about developing a range of new programs and events at the IMC!<br><br>The first meeting of the committee is scheduled for <u>Saturday, February 23 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the IMC</u>. We will meet at the "stage area" on the first floor and decide where best to meet from there. Please make an effort to attend.
