IMC orientation
staffing orientation

training manual about the IMC (part of orientations)

orientation: ellen passes out agenda (one short one, and one long one).
talk about using the IMC infomercial video and the one that was made for
the 3rd anniversary party. ellen will find copies of both of those and
check them out.

ORIENTATION WILL BE ON JULY 17 FROM 3-5 P.M.

zach: working groups could schedule trainings for their new people before
then?

ellen: might be tough because that's 2 weeks away. monthly trainings this
fall (first saturday or something like that) for different working groups.
maybe 2 different groups back to back (video and radio on one saturday,
for example). maybe some groups more than others, by demand?

first saturday in august could be an all-day training BONANZA (august 7)?

promotion: mailing to the membership to announce orientations (both
staffing and general). old PSA that can be amended to a new PSA.

meghan: real schedule of when people are staffing. core hours? what are
they, so we can push them at the orientation? old core hours were 4-9 p.m.
move them up to lunchtime because there's a lot of foot traffic during
that time. 12-2 p.m. and then 5-9 p.m.

core hours on weekends? farmer's market time (8 a.m.-6p.m.) sunday 12-8
p.m.

meghan: will contact like-minded people to get new people in. will write
an article for the hub.
zach will make a poster and bring it to shows tomorrow.
jane will talk to the hub about free ad.
ellen will talk to erin from el informador.

meghan would like to point out that "upcoming" is one word, not two (sorry
y'all, you would have had to be here!)

DOCUMENTATION:
we need it before the orientation. ellen will work on this with zach and
jane. faith as needed. zach will compile the documentation he already has
and some stuff he's been wanting to do for a while. ellen will talk to the
groups and see what they have. multiple handbooks in varying levels of
details (all about shows group va. all about staffing the IMC).

ellen has talked to a bunch of the staffers. 4 questions:

1. what questions did you get asked that you didn't know the answer to?
2. what questions are asked most?
3. what is your general staffing routine?
4. what should staff training include?

all except maggie and zoe ginsburg, who will be emailed soon.

sweetcorn festival: Saturday, August 28. It's $50 + $25 for the Friday
night kick-off party. 5-11 on friday, setup by 4:40p.m. 11-11 on saturday.
 we have a booth!

Quad Day: Sascha and Arun are the point people for the Quad Day booth.
Zach will go talk to Jodi at the Union about a table for us.
