Locally, six members and supporters of the 85% Coalition were recently arrested at the Illinois Capital doing civil disobedience in support of expanding Illinois law to protect gay and lesbian citizens against discrimination on the job and in other aspects of public life. This measure was killed once again by Republican leadership in the Illinois Senate, who appear to be out of touch with even their own constituency.
