I need to point out for the Tech group that we need to be involved in<br>
any equipment donations for two reasons.<br>

First, we can't take unfiltered boxes of equipment because we can't be<br>
someone's junkyard. One of us literally needs to be present to<br>
physically sort through equipment to tell the donor what we can take<br>
and what we can't.<br>
<br>
Second, we should be involved to prevent situations like this one. If<br>
a member of the Tech group had been present to intake the donation,<br>
one of us would be in a position to send the donor a thank you note.<br>
In this case, the donation appears to have been handed down to various<br>
parties within the IMC and the donor's identity was lost.<br>
<br>
I will send a thank you note if we can confirm the donation I<br>
processed is indeed from Kirchner Law office and someone can give me<br>
the contact info for Kirchner. The donation included mice, keyboards,<br>
hard disks, Iomega removable storage, odds & ends and many video, USB<br>
and Firewire cables. I found it in six or seven filing boxes by the<br>
refrigerator in the IMC.<br>
<br>
In the future, when anyone has contact with a possible technical<br>
equipment donor, please forward them directly to someone in the Tech<br>
group.<br>
