[IMC-US] RE: [Imc-us-editorial] Re: PROPOSED - Kerry won - here arethe facts

I've been using the link from TomPaine.com for the Palast article:
http://www.tompaine.com/articles/kerry_won_.php

I have no problem linking to other independent media, especially at a time like
this with a subject like this. Palast's piece is the best overview, but there
are lots of links regarding voter fraud. For starters:

CNN screwing with it's exit polls:
http://michiganimc.org/newswire/display/7632/index.php
More on this is posted to http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/11/3/53438/6175

Really shady stuff with poll challengers:
http://www.boingboing.net/2004/11/03/michael_moore_protec.html
which corresponds with this report
http://michiganimc.org/newswire/display/7554/index.php

And less trustworthy but worth noting:
http://americablog.blogspot.com/archives/2004_10_31_americablog_archive.html#109946880458828314

Beyond reporting/complaining, I see two actions that people can take on this:
For starters, we can support Bev Harris's historic FOIA action:
http://www.blackboxvoting.org/#foia
And we can put more of a spotlight on counting the provisional and 'spoiled'
ballots in Ohio: http://indymedia.us/en/2004/11/1931.shtml
I'm trying to find out what Ohio Democrats are doing, but it's not over,
whatever Kerry or Bush says. Will any Senator join with a Representative this
time to file a report when the House certifies the election results?

Of course, let's not forget that pre-election day suppression and the fact that
the polls in urban areas are simply not designed to handle this level of
turnout were likely bigger factors than fraud. The excessive use of (uncounted)
provisional ballots, especially with young and urban poor voters, also impacted
the counts reported to the media.

At the same time, we should not avoid analyzing the actual results of the
election. No matter how you cut it, tens of millions of people turned out to
support Bush and what he represents, for a whole range of reasons. The current
"Who is the Other Half?" feature is awesome. This article in particular will
kill you: <http://nyc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/130459/index.php>. And
this analysis from MI IMC "Power conceding nothing without demand, as usual"
<http://michiganimc.org/feature/display/7637/index.php> should be featured or
included in a feature.

These don't all have to be in one article. In fact, it might be better if we
just keep up a steady stream of reporting on this. We have the potential to
drive this forward if we are honest and persistent.

Given that every news org, mainstream, liberal, whatever, is ignoring
electronic voting errors, ballot access problems, and voter
disenfrachisement, i think it's important to feature this.
