Captain Paul Watson of the direct action group Sea Shepherd <a
href="http://wmass.indymedia.org/newswire/display/4565/index.php">reported</a>
from the bridge of the ship Farley Mowat at 1405 Hours AST that seven
international
volunteer crew members were assaulted by sealers from the sealing vessel
Brady Mariner.
Watson says they were punched and <a
href="http://shepherd.textamerica.com/">hit</a>
with clubs and hakapiks. Following the assault the activists were <a
href="http://www.seashepherd.org/news/media_050331_3.html">arrested</a>.
The hunt is especially <a
href="http://maritimes.buffaloimc.org:8080/news/2005/03/9982.php">controversial</a>
in the Maritimes of Canada where some have hunted for generations.
