Mr. Larrabee,

I am contacting you on behalf of the Steering Group of the Urbana-Champaign
Independent Media Center. You have been posting on a near-daily basis to
our website's Newswire for several weeks. You may have noticed that many
of your posts have been relegated to the "hidden posts" area because they
have been found to violate our Appropriate Use Policy
(http://urbana.indymedia.org/website_policy.php3). The main reason why
many of your posts have been hidden is because they appear to be primarily
solicitations to buy books from your website.

In addition the frequency of your posts is becoming a problem. Our's is a
relatively low-traffic site, therefore a daily posting by anyone is
excessive, especially because your posts do not seem to be specifically
oriented towards our local community --evidenced by the fact that you post
them on many other IMC's. Thus, the Steering Group is preparing to begin
hiding all of your posts in the "hidden posts" area.

You are being notified so that you have an opportunity to modify your
posting behavior to comply with our Appropriate Use Policy. In order for
us to consider not hiding all of your future posts you must indicate to us
by e-mail your intention to comply with this policy within seven
days. Please send e-mail to info at urbana.indymedia.org. If you do not
contact us within seven days we will begin hiding all of your posts at that
time.

If you do not contact us in the next seven days and in the future you wish
to use the U-C IMC website in compliance with the Appropriate Use Policy,
please e-mail us at info at urbana.indymedia.org and the Steering Group will
consider ceasing to hide your posts.

Respectfully,

Paul Riismandel
U-C IMC Steering Group Member
