[Imc] Independent Media Center offers and wish list

Do you have old furniture and supplies just gathering dust?  Read on to find a
way to make sure they are put to good use.

The Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center is opening January 19th at our
new home at 218 West Main, Urbana.  This new, local non-profit group is
dedicated to providing underrepresented perspectives to existing news outlets
and to establishing new methods of news distribution.  Our new space will be
an active community center and resource, and for that we need your help.

We offer:
the opportunity, technology, and training to produce news and other media
a progressive library and reading room
a venue for local performers, musicians, artists, and writers
a meeting space for local groups
an archive of IMC-produced materials
an interesting space to meet intriguing people

We need:
Donations of furniture and supplies:
   desks
   filing cabinets
   sofas
   chairs
   rocking chairs
   bookcases
   tables:  work-, coffee-, and end-
   room dividers
   track lighting
   floor and table lamps
   rugs
   display cases
   magazine racks
   folding chairs
   mini-safe
   pillows
   coat rack
   umbrella stand
   microwave oven
   office supplies
   cleaning supplies
Artists and performers to hold events at our space
Groups to meet in our space
Individuals to get involved in staffing the space and creating news

We are holding an equipment drop-off day on THURSDAY, JANUARY 11 from 10 AM to
8 PM.  We can pick up your donation.  For more information on the IMC, or to
