Committee meeting:

IMC Notes -- Steering Committee Meeting
03/4/01  Meeting start time: 12:07 p.m.

Attending:  Paul Riismandel (Tech), Mike Lehman, Sascha Meinrath (Notes;
Finance), Brian Hagy (Outreach), Brent McDonald, James Jacobs (Librarians),
Ellen Knutson (Librarians), Paul Kotheimer, Sehvilla M. (News), Jamie Carras,
Mitra Ghaboussi, Mark E. (News).   SPACE:  still needs liaisons.

Fundraising/Finance:  Didn't meet last week.  Next meeting:  Wednesday 3/7 at
7:30 p.m.

Space:  Didn't meet last week & NEEDS LIAISONS.  Next meeting:  Wednesday
3/7 at
6:30 p.m.

Librarians:  collection development -- will bring funding proposal to the
group.  Have begun looking for grant opportunities & will contact
publishers by
end of March about free subscriptions.  Want a WEBSPACE for the library (on
Groogroo).  Next Meeting:  Thursday 3/8 at 5:15 p.m.

Tech/Equipment Group:  wiring equipment came in this week -- will schedule
work
day soon.  Equipment checkout protocol is needed.  Next Meeting:  Wednesday
3/7
at 6 p.m.

Outreach: met 3/3/01 -- outreach to 1) Organizations; 2) to individuals
(within
C-U area); 3) to more global audience.  General IMC orientation will be
done on
April 21st.  Is looking for volunteers to produce posters to advertise the
IMC.  Next meeting:  Sunday 3/25 at 11 a.m.  

Girlzone:  IMC will become Girlzone site on Volunteers to help out:  Mitra,
Sehvilla, Ellen, Paul R. & Shinjoung (? -- James will ask).

Job List:  prop up desk; wall mounts for monitors; bathroom sink;
whiteboard for
the back room; painting electrical cord; shelving for front room (under
bulletin boards); Mitra will ask friend about doing art on windows & Mitra has
office partitions we could have.

501(c)(3):  Sascha passed out a handout on what we can & cannot do and sent an
e-mail to the main IMC list with information on 501(c)(3) and elections and
lobbying.  Paul R. will create guidelines concerning political stuff (for 3
weeks from now).  In interim we will follow the guidelines for 501(c)(3)
organizations.

Announcements:  Paul R. & Ellen will visit Belgium IMC while in Europe; Sarah
will do CGFC outreach; Socialist Forum is interested in having IMC have a
booth
at their Mayday Celebration; Mitra will begin looking to find artists to show
at the IMC.

News:  Next meeting:  Meets every Sunday at 1:15 p.m.
