with the help of Sascha, Sarah, Peter, Becca, Anora, and (of course)
SERGEI, I've produced a half-hour documentary on the Summit of the
Americas, and the demonstrations which took place in Quebec City last
weekend.

i have converted all the .wav files to .mp3's, but CAN'T get them to
upload.  i will be on a short vacation this weekend, so i won't be able to
get them published on our site any time soon.  could SOMEBODY please take
care of this?  i think the IMC movement and (hopefully) the mobilization
against globalized capitalism will be helped in some small way by this
documentary, IF ONLY it can reach a larger audience!!!

[SUMMARIES:]

Part One--An audio portrait of the Carnival Against Capital which took
place in Quebec City on April 20, 2001, along with an interview with a
representative of the Canadian Auto Workers who was participating in a
direct action march to the security perimeter that same day (28.2 MB, 12
mins. 21 sec.)

Part Two--Perspective from Urbana activist Becca Glaser on the use of
teargas, and on the motivation behind political direct action, along with
a montage of "frontline" audio footage from the Summit of the Americas
security perimeter. (10.0 MB, 4 mins. 23 sec.) 

Part Three--Urbana IMC reporters Sascha Meinrath and Sarah Kanouse, along
with other journalists and participant bystanders, conduct an interview
with Quebec Provincial Secuirity (SQ) spokesperson Gerard Carrier. (12.7
MB, 5 mins. 33 sec.)

Part Four--Sascha Meinrath speaks with Connie Vogel of the Defense of
Canadian Liberty Committee during a break in the debriefing process for
outgoing arrested protestors. (14.6 MB, 6 mins. 23 sec.)

Part Five--Concluding credits for the half-hour segment along with a
wrap-up conversation between the Urbana IMC's Sascha Meinrath and a
demonstrator who had spent a number of hours face-to-face with riot police
on Saturday afternoon. (5.94 MB, 2 mins. 35 sec.)
