Public Affairs and News Junkies,
A new weekly news program from the producers of "Making Contact" (5:30pm
Tuesdays on WEFT) is being offered to community radio stations.  The PC will
check it out and discuss it at our meeting on the 14th.  Just thought you'd
like to know and perhaps listen to it yourselves on the Internet.

Announcing the launch of Beyond Headlines 
a production of the National Radio Project and the Live Wire Independent
News Crew 
NRP is excited to launch a new half-hour weekly public affairs show on
November 8, 
2001, that will continue at least through March 7, 2002. This program will
focus on 
seldom discussed implications of U.S. international and domestic policies
and actions 
in the post September 11 period. The program will be hosted by Phillip
Babich. This 
program will cover issues in a more timely manner than Making Contact, our
flagship 
weekly program, which will continue to be uplinked on the Public Radio
Satellite 
System on Wednesdays. Beyond Headlines will be tape delayed by a few hours
and 
distributed each Thursday at 3pm ET on the Public Radio Satellite System and
via 
MP3 files posted at www.radioproject.org each Thursday by 4pm ET.
