Three Job Openings to be filled immediately at the National Radio
Project.  See below for job descriptions and application deadlines.
Duration of employment no less than four months.

NRP will will launch a new public affairs show on November 8, 2001.  NRP
has just received funding to start another weekly program that will
focus on seldom discussed implications of U.S.international and domestic
policies and actions in the post September 11 period.  This half-hour
weekly show (title TBA) will be distributed each Thursday at 3p ET on
the Public Radio Satellite System and via the Internet.  We will also
Fed EX CDs to stations for play on Fridays.


ASSOCIATE PRODUCER (16 hours/week): Reports to Executive Producer
Works directly with Executive Producer/Host in developing ideas and
topics for show.  Makes arrangements for interviews.  Acquires
background information and research for interviews and segments.  Writes
introductions and segment lead-ins. Participates in editorial meetings.
Responsible for final show documents (show descriptions, invoices, etc.)
Coordinates with web weaver on web updates.  Assists with other
communications.

Qualifications: Must have at least one-year of radio production
experience.  Superb organizational skills.  Strong communication
skills.  Good news judgement.  Strong writing skills.  Excellent on the
phone.  Good team player.  Strong computer skills.  Knowledge of Sound
Forge a plus.

Hours: Wednesdays 8am - 12pm, Thursdays 6am - 2pm, Fridays, 8am - 12pm
Wages: $15/hour

 ENGINEER (8 hours/week): Reports to Executive Producer
Primary sound engineer for recording interviews and mixing the show.
Uplinks the program to the Public Radio Satellite System via ISDN line.
Facilitates ISDN and telephone audio feeds. Uploads audio files to NRP
web site. Coordinates and books studio time.

Qualifications: Must have at least one-year of audio engineering
experience.  Meticulous mixing and editing skills.  Strong communication
skills.  Able to work under deadline pressure.  Good team player.
Strong computer skills.  Knowledge of Sound Forge a plus.

Hours: Thursdays 6am - 2pm
Wages: $15/hour

ASSOCIATE MANAGER (20 hours/week): Reports to Managing Director
This is a high level part-time administration position.  The
administrator will support the Managing Director. Tasks will vary and
may include sensitive and appropriate station communications, creating
brochures and other collateral materials, developing systems to improve
work flow, grant research and writing and general office and data
management tasks.

Qualifications: Must be an excellent communicator. Strong writing
skills.  Able to multi-task and prioritize effectively in an environment
with shifting priorities.  Quick thinker with an ability to integrate
information from a variety of sources.  Willing to take direction and
work effectively both independently or as part of a team.  Capable of
developing systems to improve the work flow and environment.

Must be highly reliable.  Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Understands the value and importance of all work, including so-called
menial tasks. Understanding of a broad range of social issues desirable.

Contact with non-profit organizations nation-wide is a plus.

Must be comfortable using MacIntosh computer. Comfort with PC is a
plus.  Fluency with MS Word and netscape required. Knowledge of
Photo-shop, Excel, Filemaker-Pro, Pagemaker are a plus.

Must be  available to start immediately.
Salary depends upon experience.
