Please forward:

Rick Burkhardt and Andy Gricevich, aka "The Prince Myshkins", will be
Guests-in-Residence at Unit One/Allen Hall September 10 - 15. Their
opening program, "Laughing in All the Wrong Places" will take place
Monday, September 10 at 8pm in the South Rec Room of Allen Hall, 1005 W.
Gregory, Urbana. (please note that all opening programs this year will
take place on the first Monday of the guest's visit at 8pm).

Rick Burkhardt and Andy Gricevich produce experimental music, songs,
poems, and theater. As the modern folk duo The Prince Myshkins, they have
composed songs on the subjects of war, economics, sexuality, medicine, and
contemporary politics. Their other writings delve into the inner workings
of film, border politics, prisons, ageism, and the politics of language.
Rick and Andy both studied at the University of Illinois and are now
living and working in San Diego. They have performed in theaters, concert
halls, coffeehouses, classrooms, and activist events across the country.

Their music has been characterized as:

"A rare combination of biting satire and great musicianship... Hysterical
send-ups of current political and social events to remarkably catchy and
well-written tunes."

"Klezmer meets Godot and Brothers Grimm... the Myshkins are first-rate
musicians whose sardonic songs induce life-threatening fits of laughter."

"They make you laugh. They make you mad. They make you laugh about being
mad. And then they insult your mom."

The full schedule for their events for the week will be available on our
website: www.housing.uiuc.edu/academics/unit1
All programs are open to the public. Call 333-8351 for more information.
