[Imc] two cents on the public i

Ask the readers. Print a questionaire, announce and invite readers to an open forum, make sure they know that the public i is open newsroom where anyone can participate -- not an closed editorial board or faceless entity LIKE EVERY OTHER NEWSPAPER IN TOWN.

That can be the "feature" of the next issue. Put the idea to the test.

(I think I read suggestions like this already from maybe Orion and/or John, and I think they need repeating.)

One self-elected group critiquing another self-elected group only goes so far -- and I mean that with no offense towards either group (I've been a member of either many many times myself). I think it's very healthy for us to consider everything we do open for examination and revision, let's just make sure that the new boss doesn't replace the old boss.

Indymedia is a process and an experiment. It's not necessarily an end result. We're trying something new and we don't know what we're doing. Let's remember that we're also allowed to have fun.

These are my suggestions -- use, abuse or ignore them at will.

thanks for reading,

Paul
