Free Speech Radio News is seeking an Outreach and Fundraising Coordinator

About Free Speech Radio News:
Free Speech Radio News is a daily half-hour news program featuring
grassroots, independent reporting from around the world. FSRN began as a
weekly program in February of 2000 and has been broadcast daily since May of
2001. It is now carried on more than fifty community radio stations across
the United States. To learn more andlisten to archive editions of the
newscast, please visit our website, www.fsrn.org. Although the broadcast is
produced at KPFA-FM in Berkeley, California and WMNF-FM in Tampa, Florida,
the Outreach and Fundraising Coordinator need not be located in or near
either of these cities.

This is a 3/4 time job. Pay is $2437.50 a month.

Responsibilities include:
1) Station Relations--Billing and follow-up
2) Writing and distributing press releases
3) Writing grant applications
4) Maintaining the donor database, sending reminders, newsletter and thank
you letters
5) Overseeing direct mailings
6) Planning at least one benefit event for FSRN a month at various locations
throughout the United States
7) Finding new donors
8) Solicits in-kind donations of equipment
9) Coordinating recruitment of new personnelin association with the steering
committee
10) Participation in weekly telephone conference call, Wednesday evenings at
7:00 p.m. PST

Qualifications for the positions include:
1) Excellent organizational skills
2) Event planning experience
3) Grant writing experience
4) Pleasant, assertive telephone manner
5) Word processing, database and internet skills required
6) The ability to work collectively, cooperatively, at a distance from key
colleagues and under the direction of rank and file leadership.
