Public arts grants are due Jan 16th - there are 3 workshops coming up about
it.  If you want to apply through the IMC, let me, the chair of the finance
committee, know.

Also, they are hiring an intern this Spring - $15/hr, 10 hours a week for

*November 29*, 6:00 - 7:00 PM, Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center;

Arts Grants Program makes funding available to artists, arts organizations,

Our November-January Artist of the Corridor is William Lawrence Deverell,
who is exhibiting his drawings for the first time in the City building
lobby at 400 S Vine Street through January 31, 2013. Because he is
colorblind, Deverell prefers to work in black and white using ink and
pencil with great attention to detail. Through his work, the artist
expresses his great interest in grand architecture, intricate forms, and
dramatic light and shadow.

Using materials that range from plastic milk cartons to gold, Professor
Theide fashions unusual and beautiful pieces of art. Her works have been
included in over 450 exhibitions and are in the permanent collections of
museums in San Francisco, New York, and Washington, DC. In addition she is
the Chair of the Studio Division and the Program Chair for Metals and
Ceramics at the University of Illinois, and she has received a national
award for her work as an art educator. See some of her creations and learn
more about her approach to teaching on November’s *Art Now!* episode. *Art
Now!* is a half-hour TV show produced by the Urbana Public Arts Commission
and UPTV that features a new local artist every month. Episodes air Mondays
at 6:30 pm and Tuesdays at 11:00 pm on UPTV channel 6, or online at
