Dear Friends and Colleagues:

One of Illinois' Ph.D. alumni --Samantha King (Kinesiology, 2000)--  dissertation research and book Pink Ribbons Inc.: Breast Cancer and the Politics of Philanthropy (University of Minnesota Press, 2006),  inspired the making of a feature film, Pink Ribbons, Inc. The film opened nationally in theaters this May, has generated a lot of critical discussion, and won awards at film festivals.   http://firstrunfeatures.com/pinkribbonsinc/

The Department of Kinesiology & Community Health and the Center on Health, Aging and Disability (CHAD) invite you to a showing of Pink Ribbons, Inc.

After the film, Samantha King, author of the book that inspired the production of Pink Ribbons, Inc., will field questions about the film and her research.
