-To run for an office, you must be a member in good standing, meaning
your dues are paid and current, by April 1st, 2012. It is most
expedient for record keeping purposes to pay your dues directly to your
   local Branch instead.

-In September meeting, the date, location, and time of elections will
be announced. Additionally the nomination committee will be elected.
There must be at least 5 members on this committee, with no more than 2
being current Executive Committee members and officers. The duties of
this committee can be seen in the electionmanual. The chief
responsibility is to submit nominations at the October meeting.
Members of the Nominating Committee must be in good standing for at
least 30 days prior to their appointment.

-In October, the Nominating Committee makes their recommendations.
Additional nominations may be made. A consent form or petition form
must be already filled out and presented during and not after
nominations for ALL nominees, whether made as a recommendation by the
Nominating Committee or whether made during open floor nominations.
Only members in good standing may be nominated. Members in good
standing must be verified by the Branch Secretary. During this
meeting, an ElectionSupervisory Committee is also selected.

-In November, elections are held. We will need members who are not
running for a position to work the voting booth and 2 additional people
to tally the votes after voting has been closed. Only members in good
standing for at least 30 days are eligible to vote. The outcome of
the elections will be announced within 48 hours.

-In December, we will hold our annual open house/meet and greet.

   Additional notes:
*All nominees must have prior verification with Branch Secretary that
they are in good standing as of April 1st, 2012. While we work
diligently to maintain accurate records, the burden to prove current
membership lies upon the person being nominated.
