1 out of 5 deported immigrants are parents of US citizen children. In the
first six months of 2011, 46,486 parents of US citizen children were
deported resulting in at least 5,100 children living in foster care.



In Illinois, 60% of undocumented immigrants live in families with children.
In past five years, an estimated 56,108 Illinois children have lost a
parent.
