Hello friends,
Things can get a little hectic as the holidays approach and the year draws to a
close; still, it's a good time to pause and take stock of how things are going.
This year I am especially grateful to all of you who support C4A by taking lessons
or classes with us, by attending our events, by supporting us financially, and most
of all by telling your friends about us.
Because of you we are able to continuously improve our efforts to build and strengthen

NOVEMBER ENCORE
Jazz Talks was a hit!
Our first-in-a-series panel discussion about the history of the CU jazz scene was
well attended and much applauded.
On November 23 Morgan Powell, Shab Wirtle, and Gary Peyton delighted the audience
with memories and stories from the 60s along with some musical examples at The Iron
Post.
We'll be sure to let you know when the next session is scheduled.

National Guild Conference
C4A is proud to be a full member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education.
Three C4A representatives attended a national level conference sponsored by the
National Guild that was held in Chicago Oct 30-Nov 2.
Angela Urban, Robin Kearton, and Tom Faux collectively represented C4A's administrative
staff, teaching faculty, and board of directors at this conference. They came back
informed and inspired, and we have already begun to implement many of the ideas
gathered to help C4A continue to grow and serve our community.
The National Guild has already proven to be a great resource for us; some of the
contacts we made during the conference are extending far beyond the one-time meet.
We anticipate that these relationships will continue to grow and inspire us in our
work.

"Autumn Leaves" Silent Auction
C4A musicians playing in front of a table with a dazzling array of auction items!
On November 22 our silent auction was held at Sylvia's Irish Inn. Attendees were
treated to free hors d'oeuvres, wine samples, and live music as they browsed the
offerings.
Items sold included jewelry and fine art created by local artisans, unique services
and gift items, and many wonderful meals. The majority of our auction items and
services were donated by local artists and merchants, and we are grateful for their
support!
Proceeds from the auction benefit C4A's scholarship and community events funds.
