[IMC] seeking an agency to partner with nursing students for a service-learning

Hello:

I am the community/public health nursing instructor at Illinois Wesleyan
University. I have a group of students completing field experiences in the
Champaign-Urbana area this semester. Due to a recent change in leadership
at an area agency, I find myself in need of a new service-learning partner
for students. I noted that you were a partner for We Choose Health, and
thought that students may be able to help you meet a goal related to this
grant.

I don't know how overwhelmed you are with students in general, but I did
not hear you mentioned by other nursing faculty in the area as a field
site. A service-learning project for this group would be health focused;
other than that restriction, students can address a range of concerns.

The project would start by students meeting with you to discuss what health
related concerns you have as an organization. They would share these ideas
with me, and I would work with students to design a project that will meet
their learning needs, be doable in the course of the semester, and produce
a deliverable by mid-April. The deliverable could be an event, a set of
materials, a presentation, a white paper, etc.

Please let me know if you are interested, and if you would be able to meet
with students on a coming Tuesday.
