5TH ANNUAL FEMINIST FILM FESTIVAL
Thursday, May 8th, 2014 at 7pm
The Art Theater (126 West Church Street, Champaign, IL 61820)

CHAMPAIGN, IL - The Annual Feminist Film Festival at the University of Illinois is a student film festival and a grassroots event that utilizes art and alternative media to bring social issues into the fore. The goal of the festival is to showcase independent film spanning documentary, narrative, and experimental genres in order to explore perspectives often missing from mainstream media and culture. Now in its 5th year, the festival strives to serve as an inclusive public space for underrepresented artists and filmmakers-particularly women and people of color-to raise consciousness concerning issues related to gender, race, class, sexuality, and other dimensions of social inequality. All films are between 5 and 15 minutes in length. Doors open at 6:30pm. A red carpet walk will begin at 6:30pm. Come get your picture taken in your finest on the red carpet!
The University of Illinois Feminist Film Festival is organized and hosted by the University of Illinois Women's Resources Center, in collaboration with variety of campus units and departments with support from the Art Theater Co-Op and Shatterglass Studios.

Red carpet walk and doors open: 6:30pm
Screening begins promptly at 7 'clock at the Art Theater
Q & A with filmmakers to follow the screening.

Free and open to the public. Early tickets are available at the Women's Resources Center and all other OIIR cultural centers on campus. Tickets will also be available for free at the door. Although the tickets are $0, everyone MUST have a ticket to enter the screening so get yours early!
