Hi!

The IMC previously signed on to a joint letter in support of the Private 
Prison Information Act (PPIA), which would require private prisons that 
house federal prisoners or detainees to comply with Freedom of 
Information Act requests to the same extent as federal agencies.

The PPIA was reintroduced late last year by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, but 
died at the end of the Congressional session. We are asking her to 
reintroduce the bill this year and have drafted a new support letter, 
which is attached. Also attached is a copy of the current PPIA bill.

Please advise if you will sign on to the new joint letter in support of 
the PPIA. Thanks!
