[IMC] Black Lives Matter C-U Kick-Off Invitaiton

[Black Lives Matter CU]

Hello,

I am emailing you on behalf of the BLM-CU counsel to invite you to our
chapter Kick-Off, happening this Sunday, October 25th from 2-6PM at the
Bruce Nesbitt African American Cultural Center (51 E Gregory Drive,
Champaign), where we will be introducing ourselves to the community and how
we intend to serve this area. From this event we hope to gain solidarity
with black folks, including those on campus and those organizing around the
same central goals. We want this to be a loving, welcoming experience with
an emphasis on knowledge & creativity. We ask that you share this space
with us, and contribute your wisdom and energy where it may seem fit. We
will have informational tables covering a range of topics, from education
to black movements and white opposition. This will be a safe place where
critical dialogue can occur.

We will also have a live DJ and an area for collaging/sign-making. Children
of all ages are welcome. There will be an open mic to close out the
kick-off, beginning at 5PM. I encourage any of our artistic guests to
speak, play, or move their knowledge through the space. I have attached the
flyer for the event. Please feel free to share. We look forward to seeing
you there!
