<font face="Times New Roman, Times" size=2>I'm contacting you with an
announcement about the Third Coast International Audio Festival, an
exciting new project from WBEZ in Chicago. It's a competition,
broadcast and conference planned for fall of this year. It's also a
website that we recently launched at thirdcoastfestival.org.<br>

<font face="Times New Roman, Times" size=2>Our mission with the TCIAF
competition is to award creative, bold and thought-provoking documentary
works from around the world. Ranging from in-depth, investigative
reporting to intimate life stories and impressionistic sound pieces, the
festival's winning selections will demonstrate the power of audio
programs to document the world we live in. The winning entries will be
awarded cash prizes of up to $6,000 and will be featured in the Third
Coast Festival Broadcast hosted by Ira Glass and distributed this
November. <br>

<font face="Times New Roman, Times" size=2>And we hope your station will
be a part of The Third Coast Festival by entering the competition,
attending the conference in October or airing the broadcast this
Fall. Or you could do all three! We think this program will be a
great special to air over the looong Thanksgiving weekend. <br>
