<p class="" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-family:Helvetica;line-height:115%">In early 2007, longtime C-U resident Darrin Drda moved to San Francisco
to pursue a Masters degree in what he now calls “the most audacious grad
program imaginable” — Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness. Much of what he
learned at the California Institute of Integral Studies found its way into a
book entitled "</span><a href="http://www.thefourglobaltruths.com" style="font-family:Helvetica;line-height:115%"><span style="text-decoration:initial">The Four Global Truths:
Awakening to the Peril and Promise of Our Times</span></a><span style="font-family:Helvetica;line-height:115%">," which was
published in late 2011 by North Atlantic Books under the </span><a href="http://www.northatlanticbooks.com/store/evolver-editions/" style="font-family:Helvetica;line-height:115%"><span style="text-decoration:initial">Evolver Editions</span></a><span style="font-family:Helvetica;line-height:115%">
imprint.</span></p>

<p class=""><span style="line-height:115%;font-family:Helvetica">Since the book's release, Darrin has completed two tours—one of the
Pacific Northwest and one of the East Coast. Hoping to share his thoughts and
sentiments with the fine folks of the Midwest, he will be giving a book talk
and signing in Champaign on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/380228228730460/"><span style="text-decoration:initial">Friday, December 28th at 6:30pm</span></a> at Indi Go
Artist Co-op. Darrin regards the event as a chance to connect with old friends
as well as meet new allies who appreciate the unique challenges and
opportunities of our day. As his invitation states:</span></p>

a time of converging crises and inspiring developments, more and more people
are realizing that a major planetary shift is underway. With so much at stake,
it becomes crucial to understand the deeper dynamics, and possible
implications, of our pivotal evolutionary moment.</span></p>

What is the nature of this great transition? </span></p>

are the main questions explored by Darrin Drda in his book, <i>The Four Global Truths</i>. Drawing from his
studies of Buddhism, consciousness, cosmology, philosophy, psychology, and
astrology, Darrin takes a wide—and penetrating—look at our planetary situation
and offers a solid basis for hope and even excitement as we all bring our
particular gifts to bear in this collective coming-of-age. </span></p>

than just a book reading, this special community event will combine stimulating
discussion with a handful of brief guided meditations and heart-opening

<p class="" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-family:Helvetica">Indi Go Artist Co-Op is proud to present internationally known classical guitarist, Rachel Schiff, in a concert on Friday, January 4 at 7:00pm and Saturday, January 5 at 7:00pm located at 9 East University Avenue, Champaign.  Concert admission is free.</span></p>

<p class="" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-family:Helvetica">Guitarist Rachel Schiff performs a selection of classical works spanning the baroque to modern eras.   Rachel has spent the past three years playing guitar throughout Europe studying with some of the most prominent classical guitarists. She began her studies at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Italy with Maestro Oscar Ghiglia before moving to Germany to study at the Koblenz International Guitar Academy with Dale Kavanagh.  Currently, Rachel is studying at the prestigious Hochschule fuer Musik und Tanz (Conservatory for Music and Dance) in Cologne, Germany.  At the Academy, Rachel joins students from Greece, Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Russia, China, and Israel to study with Argentinian guitarist Roberto Aussel.</span></p>

<p class="" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt"><span style="font-family:Helvetica">Rachel's concert at Indi Go will take listeners through a musical journey exploring music from the last three centuries.  Her performance will include a lute suite by Johann Sebastian Bach, a selection of Spanish pieces by Isaac Albeniz, and modern Cuban compositions by Leo Brouwer. </span></p>

several kinds of live electronic music by several composers from old technology
(guitar effects on live acoustic instrument) to new technology (laptop computer
manipulation of live sounds), from avant-garde "classical" techniques
to popular New-Age synthesized soundscapes, and from notated compositions to
improvised performances. </span><span style="line-height:115%;font-family:Helvetica;color:rgb(51,51,51)"><br>

students in the University of Illinois School of Music Composition Department
